About Bruce Broadbent, BSc MBA
An award-winning financial planner, Bruce Broadbent has been helping individuals from all walks of life successfully create wealth and gain financial independence for over 18 years.
Bruce is renowned for his substantial knowledge and technical expertise, providing bespoke financial expert advice in areas such as self-managed super, financial planning, retirement strategies and life insurance. He has recently expanded his practice to the South Perth area (near Como and Kensington).
Originally a geologist in the resources industry who spent long hours working “down a hole” in narrow mine sites, Bruce experienced firsthand the overwhelming realisation that, like many professionals, his reality was not sustainable. This realisation fuelled his drive to find a way out by owning more assets and reducing debt. Following this realisation, Bruce completed an 18-month postgraduate course, then completed his Masters of Business Administration at Melbourne University.
Bruce then worked with Westpac for 18 months, followed by an accounting firm in Joondalup.
In 2006, he was approached by a group of West Perth accountants to help set up a financial planning business which today exists as Altius Capital. Today, Bruce divides his time between consulting with his clients at both Altius Capital and Smart Capital in South Perth.
